Crafts
I make products by combining 3D printers. I sometimes collaborate with medical students to create products, and have been won awards in contests. Creating things with free ideas is a lot of fun!

Background
Taking pills out of the package is sometimes difficult for a patient whose hands are impaired. Especially, a patient with rheumatoid arthritis has pain in his/her fingers, which makes fine movements difficult. The student focused on this problem and showed me the overview of what he wanted to realize, saying that this mechanism would allow a patient to take pills out of the package without difficulties.
3D modeling and printing
Based on his idea, I started to sophisticate the design. His key idea was the mechanism allowing a patient to push a pill by entire hand so I made a 3D model to satisfy it. Finally, his idea was realized as a stylish toilet-like shape. When a patient uses this, he/she first fix the package using first lid. Then, the pill is launched by pushing second lid. He named this product "Falmacon". The origin of the name is still unknown.
